About me

Screen Shot 2013-04-08 at 17.53.32 I am an intellectual historian with a particular interest in seventeenth and eighteenth-century Britain and France. My research to date has focused on the exchange of ideas, particularly across the Channel, and I have published books on the influence of English republican writings in France during the eighteenth century and at the time of the Revolution. I am also interested in the development of notions of republicanism, revolution and democracy during the early modern period.
